What does “Fred Rongo” mean? Where did it come from?
Fred and Rongo mean “Peace” in other languages. I came up with it as a name for my MySpace profile in middle school and it’s stuck ever since. It’s also my stage name from when I used to play in a band.
How many tattoos do you have? What are they of?
I have 8. A hanger on the back of my neck, an ampersand on my left wrist, “and miles to go before i sleep” on my right forearm, a daisy on my right side ribs, a mountain range on the inside of my right ankle, a heart with the lyrics "You're the only proper noun I need" on the back of my left upper arm, a rose on my armpit, and a honey bee on my left inner bicep.
Who does your hair?
I’ve been doing my own cuts and coloring! I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone, but my motto with hair is “It always grows back!” If you couldn’t tell already, I change my hair a lot. Currently my hair is slightly longer than a pixie cut! I use Babe Clip-in Hair Extensions in color #60 and dye them with Manic Panic hair dye.
Who does your eyelash extensions? I’m thinking of getting some!
I get asked this question all the time. I used to get my eyelashes done by amazing friend, but once I started budgeting my expenses, eyelashes had to get cut out. What I’ve been doing for a while is applying my own eyelashes. I use these specifically.. It takes about 10 minutes, but they stay on for about a week if I treat them like actual extensions, then I reapply the same lashes until they start to wilt, then swap those out for new ones. Saves me a ton of money, and they still look great!
What camera/lens do you shoot with?
I shoot with a Nikon D3100 & 35mm 1.8 Nikkor lens.
What made you start your blog?
I’ve always had a passion for style and fashion. One of my good friends encouraged me to start my own fashion blog, and I figured “Why not?”. Fred Rongo started out as Imprimé Léopard, but once I realized how hard it was to tell people my blog name, I decided to change it to my original pseudonym, Fred Rongo.
